Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Program & Client Support Worker to support adults with intellectual disabilities participating in our day program. The selected candidate will work closely with program staff to facilitate various activities and experiences aimed at enhancing the well-being and engagement of our clients. Additionally, the individual selected for the role will assist with office tasks during part-time office hours. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of disability support while contributing to the meaningful growth and development of our program participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Support:
    • Assist program staff in implementing planned activities and experiences for adults with intellectual disabilities.
    • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes client engagement and participation.
    • Provide one-on-one support to clients as needed during activities.
    • Encourage social interaction and positive relationships among clients.
  • Office Assistance:
    • Perform various office tasks under the supervision of administrative staff.
    • Respond to phone calls and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Help with special projects.

Qualifications:

  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic office tasks and computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Previous experience working or volunteering with individuals with disabilities is an asset.
  • Students must be entering or returning to full-time post-secondary studies in the Fall.

Schedule:

  • This is a full-time position for 37.5 hours per week for 10 weeks from June-August through the PEI Post-Secondary Student Program
