Human Resources Associate

Location: Charlottetown, PE

As an HR Associate, you’ll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our HR team. You’ll be a key point of contact for employee inquiries, help keep our HR processes running smoothly, and gain valuable experience across a variety of HR functions. You’ll work closely with an experienced HR team and partner with leaders across the organization, building your knowledge and confidence along the way.

What You’ll Do

HR Operations & Employee Support

  • Respond to employee and leader inquiries through the HR inbox, providing guidance with support from the HR team
  • Prepare HR documents such as offer letters, employment confirmations, and employee status changes
  • Maintain employee records and ensure accurate updates in the HRIS
  • Support payroll coordination by working with Finance to ensure accurate and timely updates
  • Assist with HR processes such as compensation reviews and annual cycles

Recruitment, Benefits & Projects

  • Support recruitment activities including job postings, interview coordination, candidate screening, conducting interviews for entry-level roles, and completing reference checks
  • Assist with onboarding logistics, documentation, and orientation support
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and responding to employee inquiries
  • Coordinate and manage employee leave administration, including tracking, documentation, and communication with staff and leaders
  • Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of related experience in HR, administration, or a customer-focused role (co-op and internships considered)
  • Exposure to recruitment or HR processes is an asset

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A customer-service mindset and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systems (experience with HRIS is an asset)
