Data Specialist II

We’re looking for a Data Specialist II to help turn complex data into meaningful insights that support smarter business decisions. In this role, you’ll design and maintain scalable data solutions, build analytical datasets, and develop reporting tools that empower teams across the organization. Working closely with business partners and the Business Intelligence team, you’ll combine data engineering and analytical expertise to transform data from multiple sources into reliable, well-structured information that supports reporting, dashboards, and strategic decision-making.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and develop curated analytical datasets in Snowflake to support enterprise reporting, dashboards, and business analysis.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business questions into data models, queries, and reporting solutions.
- Build, maintain, and optimize automated reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI and Excel.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines using SQL and Python to ingest, transform, and prepare data from multiple sources.
- Monitor and maintain data pipelines and reporting assets to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.
- Analyze datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improved data structure and reporting.
- Implement data validation and quality checks to ensure consistent and trustworthy reporting outputs.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, including building Python-based automation or web data collection tools.
- Document data models, definitions, and processes to support data governance and collaboration.
- Provide technical support and contribute to best practices in data engineering, reporting, and analytics across the team.
What You Bring:
Education & Experience
- Post-secondary education in business, finance, computer science, data analytics, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or related field.
- Experience in financial services or similar regulated environment is considered an asset.
Skills & Attributes
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and optimizing large datasets.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline development.
- Experience working with Snowflake or other cloud-based data warehouse platforms.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and structured data models to support reporting and analytics.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into meaningful insights.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.

- Salary Range: $88,258 – $103,833.
