Job Purpose:
To work with the PEI Woodlot Owners Association (PEIWOA) Board of Directors to accomplish objectives identified by the Board.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Skills in: communication, collaborative teamwork, organizational administration, time management, creative thinking, problem solving and networking.
- Ability to self-direct work priorities under general direction of the PEIWOA Board.
- Ability to engage in teamwork with the Board of Directors and different organizations that the Board of Directors is associated with.
- Knowledgeable in computer programs such as word processing, spreadsheets, managing a membership database and website.
- Participation in outdoor activities such as woodlot walks, woodlot tours, outdoor forestry events, etc. would be an asset.
Other Requirements:
- Be able to work from home with own internet access (computer and printer will be provided).
- Own cell phone.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, car insurance and have access to a vehicle.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Work with the Board Chair in preparing meetings, agendas. Attend Board meetings, draft minutes for approval by the Board.
- Assist the Board with project management and administration tasks as needed. This could include drafting proposals and reports. (guidance will be provided).
- Network with others involved with the same work (i.e. governments, businesses, other provincial, regional, & national organizations).
- Manage and maintain the membership database and assist the Board with recruiting and retaining members.
- Provide the Board with updates, summaries of projects, funding requests, pending issues, upcoming meetings/events, etc.
Other Duties:
- Other duties as required and or requested by the PEIWOA Board of Directors
Salary and Benefits:
- There will be a 3-month probationary period with an evaluation. The position would require an approximation of around 20 hours per week, depending on the workload and the scheduling of the Board’s priorities.
- This contract is open to be renewed for a longer-term with possibility of extension to the spring of 2027. This is subject to:
- the satisfaction of the Board and the work schedule,
- the performance of the applicant and their satisfaction with the job duties and work schedule,
- and dependent upon funding.
- Hours per week will vary in accordance with the workload and to accommodate the schedule of the Board.
- The hourly rate for this contract will be $30 per hour plus mileage for use of personal vehicle.
