Job Description:

Student Tour Guide:

  • Compensation $17 per hour (plus 8% vacation pay)
  • Start Date: Immediately
  • End Date September 12, 2026 – 12 weeks

Elmira Railway Museum, one of the seven sites operated by the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation, is seeking a Student Tour Guide. Duties include:

  • Delivering professional quality interpretation
  • Welcoming visitors, leading tours and explaining the historic significance of cultural and material objects
  • Promoting the Museum through its social media presence
  • Other related duties as assigned

Related Tasks:

  • Use the POS system to sell admission tickets and items in the gift shop
  • Help with upkeep of the building and equipment, including light cleaning duties

Assets:

  • Friendly and outgoing
  • Have an interest in history
  • Able to work outside in the heat
  • Experience working with the public
  • Customer service experience
