Job Description:

Murchison Foundation Inc. is charitable foundation whose primary mandate is to raise funds to support the programs and services offered by Canadian Mental Health Association – P.E.I. Division. This position offers an opportunity to enhance our business and fundraising to support mental health programs and services for Islanders.

The Murchison Foundation Inc. requires the services of a qualified individual/s to work as Bingo Floor Worker/Caller.  The Bingo Floor Worker/Caller performs a variety of duties related to Bingo. This includes providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere to its customers. The Bingo Floor Worker/Caller strictly follows policies, regulations, and compliance requirements. This position reports to Nighttime Bingo Manager

This is for Five (5) Casual/ Part-Time Employment position.  Hours of work will be between 8-20 hours per week with a flexible schedule in the evenings, over weekdays, weekends, and holidays. These positions will be located in Summerside (5).

Salary:  $ 18.00-20.50/hour

Job Summary:

  1. Conducts Bingo games and activities according to company policies, laws, and  regulations
  2. Assists players in learning the fundamentals of Bingo.
  3. Sells game sheets, bingo paper, bonanza cards and canteen items etc.
  4. Operates equipment (electronic bingo machine).
  5. Calls out the numbers for a bingo game in a professional manner over audio equipment and verifies Bingo winners.
  6. Attends to the needs and concerns of Bingo customers throughout the evening in a professional and efficient manner.
  7. Ensures that players follow proper conduct in the Bingo Hall/ Area.
  8. Maintains accurate cash tills or pouches, and completes necessary paperwork such as the cash balance sheet for accountability.
  9. Assists with all logistics related to Bingo and facilities operations including but not limited to:
    • Set-up for sales and set up  of equipment, banners, stage etc.
    • Counts inventory and re-stock all products
    • Operate POS system during the sales times
    • Cleans and sanitize  surfaces  and Bingo area before and after the Bingo activity
    • Follow the proper waste disposal  protocols
    • Attends briefing and debriefing meetings with the team at each event
  10. Maintains confidentiality of all records or information of the workplace
  11. Performs other duties as assigned .

Detailed Orientation and Training will be provided in all areas of this position

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • High School graduate

*Note:  Consideration will be given to individuals who do not have high school graduation certificate provided they can demonstrate an equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • A minimum of  1 year work experience in a retail/service industry
  • Experience in cash/inventory, audio/visual equipment, POS systems preferred

  • A customer-service orientation and positive attitude
  • Be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers and other staff members
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to complete required paperwork
  • Strong basic Math skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of policies, regulations, protocols related to Bingo Gaming
  • Basic understanding of Windows and Office 365 Application, particularly Excel
  •  Strong organizational skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to do some lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to work within close proximity to Bingo customers
  • Must be able to  stand, walk for extended period of time
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and climb stairs
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms

Other requirements:

  • Vehicle and valid driver’s license is an asset
  • A satisfactory and current criminal records check
  • CPR/First Aid
