Maud Home
by Maud Home
Job Summary:
Job Description:
Maud Home is a furniture and design store built on the idea that your home should feel good to live in.
We focus on well-made pieces and helping people make confident decisions, rather than chasing trends or pushing for quick sales. Most of what we do is guiding people through choices so their home feels right and works well for how they live.
Our team works closely together and takes pride in doing things well. The standard is high, but the environment is supportive and easy to be part of.
We have built a strong and growing customer base, and the store continues to gain momentum. We have clearly met a need in the market and see strong potential for continued growth, including new areas of the business. For the right person, there is real opportunity here to grow with the company over time.
We are also fortunate to work with genuinely kind, thoughtful clients. It is something everyone who works here notices, and it makes a real difference in the day-to-day experience.
We are looking for a Store Manager to lead our Charlottetown location.
This is an important role within the business, with real ownership. You will be trusted to make decisions, take initiative, and lead the store with confidence, including how the overall customer experience is delivered.
The Role
- You will lead the day-to-day performance of the store, supporting the team while also working directly with clients on furniture and design decisions.
- This is a hands-on role. You will spend most of your time on the floor, involved in sales and part of the daily rhythm of the store, setting the tone for both the team and the customer experience.
- That includes shaping how people are welcomed, guided through decisions, and supported beyond the initial visit, through follow-up and ongoing relationships.
- In the ownersโ absence, you act on their behalf, keeping things running smoothly and handling decisions as they come up.
- You will work closely with our in-house design team. On more complex projects, they provide additional support, while you remain involved in the client relationship.
- The days are full and varied, and you will need to move between priorities without losing track of the details. Over time, you will build a strong understanding of our products and become confident in guiding clients through selections.
Who this role could be for:
- The right person may not come from traditional retail.
- You might come from hospitality, real estate, kitchen or renovation sales, or another client-focused environment where you are used to guiding people through more considered purchases and building trust over time.
- That experience can come from a range of places, including design, construction, or higher-service retail, but just as often it comes from working closely with clients and taking pride in doing things well.
- We are open to candidates who may not have a traditional background, but bring the right instincts, judgement, and approach to working with people.
What Youโll Do:
- Lead daily store operations and sales performance
- Work directly with clients on furniture, lighting, and design selections
- Oversee the full customer journey, from first interaction through follow-up and ongoing relationships
- Support and coach the team to deliver a consistent experience
- Ensure strong follow-up and clear communication with clients
- Maintain merchandising standards and the overall feel of the store
- Take ownership of results and look for ways to improve
What Weโre Looking For
- Confidence working with customers and higher-value purchases
- A natural ability to connect with people and build trust
- Leadership presence and the ability to guide a small team
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Good judgement, including a sense of what works well in a space and what doesnโt
- Curiosity and a genuine interest in learning about products and design
- An eye for what feels right in a space, or an interest in developing that instinct
What We Offer
- Base salary of $58,000โ$65,000, depending on experience
- Performance-based incentives tied to results, with no cap. Total compensation is expected to range from $72,000โ$85,000+
- Employee discounts on products
- A supportive, collaborative team environment
- The opportunity to grow with a locally owned business
Helping someone create a home they love is meaningful work.
There is a real shift when a space finally feels right. You see it in how people live and how they feel in it. If you enjoy guiding people through that and take pride in doing it well, this is work that feels good to be part of.
If you can see yourself in this role, we would love to hear from you!
Please email your resume along with a brief note on why you feel this role would be a good fit for you.
Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. Interviews will be conducted by Stacy and Chris, with a follow-up meeting with the team for candidates being considered.
We expect the hiring process to take approximately 30 days, with the goal of having the successful candidate in the role by mid to late May.
