Part Time Cleaner

Job Description:

MacPhee Enterprises operates a commercial Mall in Souris. We are seeking a Part Time Cleaner to assist with daily operations for our anchor tenants – MacPhee’s Market and Main Street Home Hardware Building Centre.

The cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and presentable work environment. The position is for 1 to 3 shifts per week, and requires flexibility to cover the Full Time cleaners’ vacation leave.

This role involves daily cleaning tasks, and ensuring all areas are tidy and well maintained for employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, and clean floors in retail areas, aisles, entrances, and back rooms
• Operate an industrial floor scrubber
• Maintain cleanliness of high-traffic areas including checkouts, entrances, and exits
• Clean and sanitize washrooms, staff rooms, and common areas
• Empty garbage, recycling, and compost bins
• Wipe down shelves, displays, carts, baskets, and frequently touched surfaces
• Remove cardboard
• Refill cleaning and washroom supplies as needed
• Identify and report maintenance or safety issues (e.g., leaks, broken fixtures, trip hazards)

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Physically able to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for the workplace environment and equipment.

This position is for EVENING and WEEKEND shifts.
