Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Automotive Service Technician Apprentice or Red Seal to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles while ensuring all work meets industry standards. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, is dependable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics and identify mechanical and electrical issues using modern diagnostic equipment
- Complete repairs and maintenance services on a variety of vehicles, including cars, SUVs, and light trucks
- Carry out routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, and fluid checks
- Inspect vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and exhaust systems
- Provide accurate assessments of required repairs and communicate findings clearly to management
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Stay up to date with evolving automotive technologies and repair techniques
- Contribute positively to a team-oriented work environment
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Licensed Automotive Service Technician (Red Seal certification considered an asset) or equivalent hands-on experience
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
- Experience with computerized diagnostic tools and scan equipment
- Tire installation and balancing experience
- Motor Vehicle Inspection (MVI) certification
- Experience in a fast-paced or high-volume shop environment
