We are currently seeking Class 1 or Class 3A Truck Drivers to support our potato harvest operations in Indian River Farms. This temporary position offers a wage of $24.00 – $26.00 per hour based on experience and offers onsite housing for out-of-province workers.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate farm trucks to transport potatoes from the field to storage facilities, packing sheds, and designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns.
- Ensure loads are secured and transported safely in compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with harvest crews, equipment operators, and supervisors to maintain efficient harvest operations.
- Assist with loading and unloading potatoes as required.
- Maintain accurate transportation and vehicle records.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Support other farm operations and duties as required during the harvest season.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 3A driver’s license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience operating farm trucks, dump trucks, or heavy vehicles is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of safe driving practices and equipment operation.
- Ability to work long hours during peak harvest periods, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Ability to work in varying weather and field conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-focused.
- Mechanical aptitude and agricultural experience are considered assets.
