Full-Time Term Position through March 31, 2027 with Salary Range Starting at $23.14 per hour, 22.5 hours per week**

Whatโ€™s the Job?

As a PEI Immigration Partnership Project Co-Ordinator, your primary duties will be initiating and supporting province wide, multi sector partnerships that increase collaboration between service providers, provincial/municipal leaders, experts and stakeholders to improve supports for newcomers across PEI. Through annual action plans, working groups, information sharing, and community engagement activities, PEIโ€™s immigration partners will benefit and build capacity with the support of the PIP program. The goal of these actions is to increase relevant supports available in the province, with the end result of successful newcomer settlement and integration into local Island communities.

The PEI Immigration Partnership (PIP) supports province-wide, multi-sectoral partnerships that collaborate around priorities for the immigration and settlement sector, determined through research and documented through action plans and strategic plans. The PIP fosters collaboration between service providers, municipal, and provincial leaders, subject experts with lived experience, and stakeholders to better support newcomers across PEI. The PIP will deliver the project through annual action plans, steering committees/working groups, integration activities and events, development and sharing of information products, and by organizing events or supporting partner events.

This role collaborates across IRSA departments and builds and maintain strong viable relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote IRSAโ€™s vision, mission and core values as well as the above listed priorities of the PIP program.

What skills or qualifications will help me succeed?ย ย ย ย ย ย 

Project work requires organization, clear standards for performance and an effective communications style. Given the timing and work of supporting events, a flexible personal schedule would also be considered a key asset to this role. You will be working with the public, so comfort in speaking to groups and networking would be essential to your success. Also, our programming is aimed to support newcomers, cultural competence and empathy to their needs are also key.

You are an independent, driven employee, on a programming team of 1, who works well with independently, reporting to the PIP Manager.

The following list of skills would also be considered assets:

  • You have a post-secondary degree or diploma in Education, Human Services, Social Work, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 1-year experience in role (or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience).
  • Working knowledge of local supports and community resources
  • Having a valid provincial driver license with access to reliable transportation
