Bridge Construction Foreman / Woman

Overview

Highfield Construction is looking for a Bridge Construction Foreman/Woman to coordinate and supervise our team of crew members. The successful candidate will be responsible for training new workers and will work closely with management and sub-contractors to coordinate work. They will also create and maintain construction schedules; manage staff; ensure construction equipment is properly maintained; and keep projects on schedule. The candidate should be extremely organized with excellent time management, leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Tasks

• Recommend measures to improve productivity
• Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
• Co-ordinate and schedule activities
• Coordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers
• Read project plans, drawings, specifications, and blueprints
• Requisition materials and supplies
• Supervise workers and projects
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units
• Supervise and coordinate activities of workers
• Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
• Monitor attendance of the crew
• Emphasize safe use of all tools and equipment
• Enforce the proper use of safety gear, like hard hats and eye-protection

• Crews of 3-10 crew members
