Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Frozen Food Store Associate to join our team. This role involves a mix of cashier duties, stocking, packing orders, some food handling, light cleaning, and assisting customers to ensure a positive shopping experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer purchases accurately
• Handle cash, debit, and credit transactions responsibly
• Provide friendly and helpful customer service, including answering questions and assisting with product selection
• Stock shelves and freezers, ensuring products are properly rotated and displayed
• Monitor inventory levels and report low stock items
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, including floors, shelves, and work areas
• Follow proper food handling procedures for frozen and packaged items
• Ensure all health and safety standards are met

Qualifications:

• Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset
• Basic math and cash-handling skills
• Ability to work in cold environments (freezers) for short periods
• Food safety course
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills

Working Conditions:

• Standing for extended periods
• Lifting and carrying boxes (up to [insert weight, e.g., 25–50 lbs])
• Exposure to cold temperatures when stocking freezers
• Flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as such.
• Condition of employment- Employee will have to provide a copy of PEI Food safety course completion certificate.
• The successful candidates will be required to provide a current Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Screening, if applicable) prior to their start date.​
