Job Description:

The purpose of these positions is to provide administrative support services within various government departments and Health PEI. These positions require a high degree of accuracy as well as a high level of skill in time management, organization and interpersonal abilities. Candidates must be successful in an administrative support testing process.

Duties may include:

  • Performing administrative support services with a high degree of accuracy;
  • Receiving incoming calls, arranging appointments and making appropriate referrals;
  • Performing word processing duties including typing and/or drafting correspondence, reports, memos, letters, etc;
  • Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence and telephone calls;
  • Performing data entry;
  • Maintaining accurate and updated records and file systems;
  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets and related documents;
  • Other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have completed Grade 12 supplemented by a diploma from a recognized Office Studies program.
  • This is a bilingual position. Advanced oral proficiency in English and French is required.
  • Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, as well as considerable knowledge and skills in Word processing and computer applications.
  • Must have typing speed of 40 wpm.
  • Must have a good previous attendance and work record;

Other Qualifications:

  • Additional relevant education and experience will be considered and asset.
  • The successful applicant must provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check prior to beginning employment.
