FIN FOLK FOOD – Line Cook
PURPOSE:
FiN FOLK FOOD is a fun, easy going restaurant and oyster bar, serving casual seafood classics using local products. As the Line Cook it is your responsibility to contribute to overall guest satisfaction by delivering menu items to guests in a timely manner and to the highest standard. Our chefs, cooks, and entire back-of-house team represent our resort and are a critical part of what the restaurant has to offer. Working with us means being part of something new, innovative, and incomparable. In connection with all BLACKBUSH properties, we strive to provide our guests with a cohesive and memorable stay.
REPORTS TO:
- Team Leader
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Oversee and give direction as necessary to kitchen helpers
- Participate in food preparation
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Operate kitchen appliances and other equipment
- Clean kitchen appliances, equipment, and work area
- Assist chef as needed
- Plate and present food for service
- Ensure food quality and presentation meets or exceeds standards
- Practice workplace health and safety procedures
- Supervisor may assign other related duties
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Production timelines are met
- Quality satisfaction and/or positive patron feedback
- Health and safety guideline compliance
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours ex) evenings, weekends, and overtime
- Effective communication and a team oriented
- Able to manage working in hot environment
- Ability to multitask while remaining organized and efficient under pressure
- Knowledge of cooking terminology, weights, measures, conversions, and equivalencies
- Knowledge of food and beverage health and safety guidelines
- Understand restaurant operations and dynamics
- Attention to detail and comfortability carrying out repetitive tasks
- Motivated by direction and accustomed to a fast-paced environment
- Completion of culinary program or courses an asset
- Prior kitchens experience an asset
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to stand for duration of shift
- SERVSAFE or equivalent
- WHMIS Certification
