Position Overview
The Host at Fluke – A Dining Experience at Blackbush is both the first and final point of contact for guests. This role combines warm hospitality, detailed service, and flexibility to assist in all aspects of the guest experience.
Schedule & Commitment
Fluke – A Dining Experience at Blackbush operates a single dinner service Tuesday through Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Team members should expect additional hours outside of these service times for setup, prep, breakdown, cleaning, and team coordination. As a small, collaborative operation, flexibility and reliability are essential — everyone plays a role in creating an exceptional dining experience from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests with professionalism and warmth.
- Provide detailed menu knowledge and guide guests through the dining experience.
- Coordinate communication between the kitchen and guests to ensure smooth service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining room and service areas.
- Process orders, payments, and ensure all guest needs are met with care.
- Support team members with clearing tables, running dishes, and polishing cutlery and glassware.
- Assist with plating or light prep during busy services as needed.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of serving or hosting experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for food, wine, and guest service.
- Team-oriented and adaptable to a dynamic, collaborative setting.
- Must have Responsible Beverage Server Program certificate.
- FoodSafe certificate is considered an asset but not required.
