REPORTS TO: Chef

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist chef as needed
• Cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Participate in food preparation
• Operate kitchen appliances and other equipment
• Clean kitchen appliances, equipment, and work area
• Plate and present food for service
• Ensure food quality and presentation meets or exceeds standards
• Practice workplace health and safety procedures
• Washing dishes as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior kitchens experience required
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours ex) evenings, weekends, and overtime
• Effective communication and a team oriented
• Ability to multitask while remaining organized and efficient under pressure
• Knowledge of cooking terminology, weights, measures, conversions, and equivalencies
• Knowledge of food and beverage health and safety guidelines
• Attention to detail and comfortability carrying out repetitive tasks
• Completion of culinary program or courses an asset

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Must be able to stand for duration of shift
• SERVSAFE or equivalent
• WHMIS Certification
