Job Description:

Program and Communications Coordinator Assistant

Do you love the downtown and its amazing local businesses? You won’t want to miss this fantastic 12-week contract opportunity.

It includes:

  • Dreaming up + coordinating marketing content for Downtown Charlottetown
  • Creating fun + engaging programs for Downtown Charlottetown
  • Working with our vibrant community of local small businesses and property owners

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Help plan new and recurring programs, events, and promotions. Duties including:
    • Research and develop new programs and initiatives.
    • Scheduling & Project communication
    • Marketing & promotion
    • Engaging members
  • Social media – Assist to maintain Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter) feeds.
    • Designing new content
    • Promoting ongoing projects
    • Sharing member news
  • Create and manage a bank of photo assets to be used for promotional material, social media, etc.
  • Stay current on trends in social media and provide recommendations for new initiatives.
  • Contribute content to monthly e-news.
  • Type and proofread press releases, correspondence, and other documents
  • Attends appropriate events and functions.

Education: Enrolled in University/College/CEGEP in associated field, or equivalent experience in marketing and program management.

*Must be eligible under the Post-Secondary Student Program. Students must be entering or returning to full-time post-secondary studies in the Fall.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Able to work independently and as a team.
  • Proficient in social media platforms & Canva
  • Experience in editing websites and using WordPress.
  • Experience with Constant Contact or similar e-news platforms.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.

Salary: $18 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours a week for 12 weeks, Monday to Friday, some evenings required

Location: 160B Queen St, 2nd floor, DCI HQ
