Job Description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Line Cook / Prep Cook to support the Copper Bottom Brewing team by supporting day-to-day kitchen operations. The Line Cook / Prep Cook will work closely with the Kitchen Manager to ensure the smooth execution of kitchen activities. The Line Cook will perform various kitchen tasks with guidance and training. Multi-tasking, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail are paramount. The Line Cook / Prep Cook must know all OH&S standards defined by the province. Copper Bottom’s overall appearance of food is a primary responsibility of this position.

  • Prep and prepare essential components of each dish on the menu using our proven recipes.
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Memorize and follow SOPs to utilize our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen.
  • Ensure the kitchen, food prep, and storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards.
  • Work with a team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed.
  • Assist in reporting product freshness and rotating out old products based on a schedule created by the restaurant.
  • Ability to work on your feet for eight hours a day.
  • High level of professionalism
  • Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Excellent verbal communication and organization skills
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds regularly
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Ensure all food items are prepared on time
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Chef
  • Assist with menu development
  • Being an everyday ambassador for delicious CBB food and beer.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a cook in the food service industry
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Understanding of food safety practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Culinary school diploma preferred
