Summer Camp Counsellor
We believe that every child deserves a summer filled with friendship, discovery and support. As a Compassion First Camp Counsellor, you are a facilitator of belonging. You will work directly with Neuro divergent youth to ensure they have the support they need to navigate the social and physical landscape of camp, and life in general.
You will provide Individualized Support as a supervisor to youth activities, Social Coaching to help youth navigate interactions, build conflict resolution skills and encourage collaborative play, Sensory Management to proactively identify environmental triggers and implement reset strategies, Activity Facilitation with our own unique blend of innovative and traditional camp activities, and be a Safety and Advocacy agent, ensuring a physically and emotionally safe environment for both staff and campers.
Requirements
- Experience working with youth preferred
- Must be minimum 18 years of age & have a valid license
- Must be able to spend the say physically active if necessary
- First Aid/CPR is considered an asset
