Job Description:

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative support to the CAO and supports the daily operations of the Municipality. You coordinate CAO and Council communications, including taking calls, responding to emails and interfacing with council members, management, staff, government officials, contractors, and members of the public.  Additionally, the Administrative Assistant supports the CAO in administering the Municipal Government Act, assisting Council, and facilitating the implementation of Council decisions, policies, and bylaws as directed.

You are a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who demonstrates discretion and maintains a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information. You communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and are comfortable using office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams to support daily operations. You are a proactive problem-solver with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise, work collaboratively within a team environment, and interact professionally with individuals at all levels of the municipality. You are adaptable, flexible, and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic workplace.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in public administration, administrative assistant, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and advanced knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office software.
