Community Inclusions Ltd. – Residential/Group Home Support Worker
About the Role
Community Inclusions Ltd. is seeking compassionate and reliable Residential Support Workers to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting.
In this role, you will provide person-centered supports that promote independence, dignity, and inclusion. You will assist individuals in building life skills, participating in their communities, and achieving their personal goals in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support to Individuals
- Provide respectful, person-centered support based on individual needs, preferences, and goals
- Assist with activities of daily living (e.g., personal care, hygiene, meal preparation)
- Promote independence, skill development, and decision-making
- Support individuals in building relationships and participating in community activities
Health & Safety
- Administer medications in accordance with training and organizational policy
- Monitor and report changes in health, behaviour, or well-being
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment
- Follow all occupational health and safety policies and procedures
Documentation & Communication
- Complete daily documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families
- Contribute to the implementation of individual support plans
Household & Daily Living Support
- Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and budgeting
- Support individuals in managing personal finances (as required)
- Maintain household routines and organization
Teamwork & Scheduling
- Work collaboratively as part of a team
- Follow established schedules, policies, and procedures
- Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and overnights
- Assist with shift coverage as directed
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Diploma in a Human Services field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is an asset

- Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities
- Patient, respectful, and supportive approach
- Ability to respond to behaviours of concern using trauma-informed practices
Requirements
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- MANDT or equivalent training (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driverโs license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Proof of insurance (minimum $2 million liability)
- Satisfactory driverโs abstract
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
Working Conditions
- Shift work is required, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts
- Physically active role (may include lifting, transfers, and supporting mobility)
- Work takes place in residential homes and community settings
