Community Support Worker – Connect Kitchen

Community Connections Inc. is seeking a permanent, full-time Community Support Worker (CSW) whose primary work location will be Connect Kitchen, our inclusive social enterprise in Summerside.

This is a unique CSW position focused on helping adults with intellectual disabilities build meaningful employment skills and succeed in their roles within the kitchen and storefront. The successful candidate will work closely with Chef Emily to coordinate individualized jobs, responsibilities and supports based on each person’s abilities, interests and goals.

Responsibilities will include:

• Assessing individual skills and support needs
• Developing step-by-step task plans and adapting kitchen duties to make them accessible
• Teaching job skills and supporting individuals in their assigned roles
• Creating and facilitating kitchen-related programming
• Promoting independence, confidence, choice and inclusion
• Contributing creative ideas to expand employment opportunities and help Connect Kitchen grow

This position is scheduled Monday to Friday, with availability required until 5:00 p.m. when needed.

Position details:

• Summerside, PEI
• Permanent full-time — 75 hours biweekly
• $24.80–$29.54 per hour
• Group insurance benefits and pension plan

Applicants should have a diploma or degree in Human Services or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience. Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities is required. Kitchen or restaurant experience is not necessary but would be considered an asset.

Applicants must also have a valid driver’s licence, access to a reliable vehicle, current First Aid and CPR, and the ability to provide a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening. The successful candidate will be required to complete Food Safety Training.
