Job Description:

Casual Sports Coordinator

The City of Charlottetown is looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Parks and Recreation team as Sport Coordinators. The successful candidates will work collaboratively with a team to plan, coordinate, and deliver engaging youth sports and recreation programs throughout the summer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in training offered by the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and managing sport and recreation programs and events.
  • Inspect equipment and facilities regularly to ensure safety standards are met. Report any deficiencies to the Supervisor.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records of program participation.
  • Monitor program performance and collect feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and report to the Parks and Recreation Department accordingly.
  • Assist with special events hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as a participant or leader in a sport or recreation program.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Reliable transportation
  • NCCP Coaching Course would be considered an asset
  • Aquatics experience and/or training would be considered an asset
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

WORK TERM: June 22, 2026, to August 22, 2026

HOURS OF WORK: 25-35 hours/week. Will include daytime and evening hours and weekends.

SALARY: Non-Union, $18.00 per hour (plus 4% vacation pay)
