Paint Sales Associate

The main objective of this position is to serve customers and recommend products to fill their needs through excellent customer service. When not assisting customers, the focus will be on maintaining a tidy, well-stocked and safe work area. Our goal is to exceed our customer’s expectations and to provide ‘the best customer service experience in PEI’.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greeting customers in a positive, welcoming manner;
• Projecting a professional appearance based on store uniform and hygiene policies;
• Noting suspicious customer activity and reporting it to Management;
• Helping customers find the items they need, answering questions;
• Sharing product knowledge, making recommendations;
• Suggesting products to complement their purchase;
• Placing special orders for customers when required;
• Maintaining confidentiality of store and customer records;
• Assisting customers with carry-outs or curbside pick-up when required;
• Working in a safe manner and maintaining a safe/tidy work area;
• Setting up and maintaining floor displays – keeping them well stocked and signed;
• Assisting other departments as needed – customer service, stocking, cleaning;
• Putting stock away;
• Other duties as assigned by Management.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Self-motivated/able to work independently;
• Professional, friendly and helpful attitude at all times;
• Attention to detail;
• Willingness to learn;
• Prior retail experience an asset;
• Ability to work cooperatively with other departments as needed;
• Ability to work at a fast pace;
• Familiar with basic computer programs;
• Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs, bending, standing;
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
