Job Description:

Camp Gencheff is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and hands-on Part-Time Maintenance Person to join our team. In addition to performing general maintenance tasks, this role requires someone who is comfortable interacting with clients, staff, and visitors in a respectful and supportive manner. The ideal candidate will have basic maintenance skills, a positive attitude, and an understanding of the importance of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for people with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs.
  • Ensure the facility remains safe by performing routine services such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, and addressing other basic needs.
  • Assist in maintaining outdoor spaces.
  • Respond to routine maintenance requests from management in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support the team by helping to keep hallways, common areas, and individual rooms safe and clean for residents.
  • Help with the setup or maintenance of equipment and furniture in common areas and activity spaces.
  • Work closely with management to identify areas that require special attention or repairs, ensuring the environment is accessible and safe for all clients.
  • Interact with clients in a respectful, friendly, and compassionate manner while carrying out maintenance tasks in shared spaces.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Report any major issues, repairs, or hazards to the management or supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge and skills in general maintenance tasks.
  • Experience working with people, especially individuals with disabilities, is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to interact with clients and staff in a courteous, respectful, and patient manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and address maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Physically able to perform light to moderate lifting, bending, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions clearly.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to a supportive, team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts based on the needs of the facility.

Schedule:

  • This is a part-time position with flexible hours. Typically, around 10-12 hours per week, with some flexibility for evening or weekend shifts depending on the needs of the organization.

  • Hourly wage based on experience starting at $17.00/hr.
