Job Description:

Purpose:

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a vital role in managing the financial health of Kelcold Storage and Bulk Carriers (P.E.I.) Limited by overseeing accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role supports long-haul operations and Storage services by analyzing costs, revenues, and budgeting related to fleet management, fuel usage, cross-border logistics, and regulatory compliance. The Senior Financial Analyst also ensures adherence to industry-specific financial regulations, assists in strategic planning, and provides guidance to the finance team to enhance overall efficiency, profitability, and financial decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements along with Board Reports.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
  • Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate external review engagements and liaise with the external accounting firm to ensure accurate and timely completion.
  • Assists in budgeting and forecasting processes and support department heads with financial planning.
  • Analyze complex financial data and provide detailed reports and recommendations to senior management.
  • Support treasury and cash flow management activities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure high-quality performance.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance financial integrity.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, HR, and IT to align financial goals with business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; CPA designation is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is an asset.

Work Schedule

  • Mon-Fri: 8:00am- 5:00pm
