Job Description:

Position Summary

The Inclusion & Behaviour Support Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all members, staff, and visitors at BGC Prince County. This role combines leadership in anti-bullying and inclusion efforts with hands-on support for daily programming, events, and community initiatives. The Coordinator models positive behaviours, organizes key culture-building events, and ensures that inclusion is woven into the fabric of all programs year-round.

Key Responsibilities

Inclusion & Behaviour Support (Core)

  • Be a visible, trusted presence in programs daily, supporting members and staff in creating a positive, inclusive environment.
  • Intervene promptly and constructively in cases of exclusion, conflict, or harmful behaviour.
  • Support members in building friendship skills, resolving conflicts, and participating fully in activities.
  • Maintain consistent behaviour expectations across all sites and programs.

Programming & Daily Activities

  • Plan and lead daily inclusion-focused activities, games, and discussions for members of all ages.
  • Collaborate with program staff to integrate kindness, respect, and belonging themes into weekly plans.
  • Create ready-to-use resources for staff to run inclusion activities during regular programming.

Event Coordination

  • Collaborate with the planning and delivery of Stick Together, Pink Shirt Day, and other inclusion-focused events, including developing promotional materials, coordinating guest speakers, and engaging community partners for events.
  • Ensure all events reflect BGC Prince County’s values of safety, respect, and inclusion.

Training & Capacity Building

  • Provide ongoing coaching to staff on inclusion, belonging, and bullying prevention.
  • Assist with the coordination and facilitation of SNAP training and support the use of SNAP strategies within BGC Prince County programs.
  • Coach staff on proactive behaviour management strategies and positive member engagement.
  • Develop and share quick-reference guides and activity ideas for promoting belonging.

Family & Community Engagement

  • Communicate with parents/guardians about inclusion goals, successes, and concerns.
  • Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and service providers to enhance member support.
  • Represent BGC Prince County at community events related to equity, diversity, and youth safety.

Data & Reporting

  • Track incidents, supports provided, and participation in inclusion activities.
  • Identify trends and recommend strategies for prevention and improvement.
  • Provide reports to Program Director on program impact and member engagement.

Qualifications

  • Experience in youth work, social work, education, recreation, or related fields.
  • Strong skills in communication, conflict resolution, and facilitation.
  • Ability to lead activities and events for diverse groups of children and youth.
  • Knowledge of inclusion strategies, bullying prevention, and restorative practices.
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel within Prince County.
  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required.
