Job Description
The Youth Development Officer (Canada Summer Jobs) will support the planning, coordination, and administration of youth and community focused programs and projects. Working closely with staff, the student will assist with program delivery, outreach, documentation, and project support activities.
Duties may evolve throughout the summer based on organizational priorities and project timelines. This position offers practical experience in administration, communication, and community engagement.
Term
8 weeks (anticipated start date: June 3, 2026)
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and coordination support for youth programs, community initiatives, and special projects
- Assist with outreach and communications, including contacting participants, partners, or clients to collect information or documentation
- Organize and maintain digital and physical files, records, and program documentation
- Support data collection, tracking, and basic reporting related to program activities
- Assist with planning and logistics for youth-focused activities and events
- Provide project support for initiatives related to community development, sustainability, or active transportation
- Collaborate with staff and adapt to evolving priorities as required

No specific level of education is required. Training and mentorship will be provided.
Eligibility Criteria (Canada Summer Jobs)
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee protection
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada according to provincial or territorial legislation
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) at the start of employment
