In August 2026, based on data unadjusted for seasonality, 4,880 people received regular Employment Insurance (EI) benefits in Prince Edward Island, down 590 recipients from July 2026. Compared with August 2025, the number of beneficiaries decreased by 330 or 6.3%. By comparison, the number of beneficiaries decreased by 2.2% in Canada over the same period.
