In May 2026, based on data unadjusted for seasonality, 4,610 people received regular Employment Insurance (EI) benefits in Prince Edward Island, down 3,960 recipients from April 2026. Compared with May 2025, the number of beneficiaries increased by 140 or 3.1%. By comparison, the number of beneficiaries increased by 3.4% in Canada over the same period.
