In July 2026, based on data unadjusted for seasonality, 5,470 people received regular Employment Insurance (EI) benefits in Prince Edward Island, up 2,280 recipients from June 2026. Compared with July 2025, the number of beneficiaries decreased by 90 or 1.6%. By comparison, the number of beneficiaries decreased by 2.0% in Canada over the same period.
