Job Description:

Pedagogical Support

• Assist educators with planning and implementing play-based learning activities.
• Support classroom programming and the implementation of the PEI Early Learning Framework.
• Assist with classroom observations, documentation, learning stories and displays.
• Help prepare and organize classroom materials, activities and learning environments.
• Provide additional classroom support when needed.
• Work collaboratively with educators to support children’s learning, development and inclusion.

Kitchen Support

• Assist with daily meal and snack preparation.
• Organize and distribute meals and snacks to classrooms.
• Wash dishes, clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces and equipment.
• Maintain proper food storage, handling and sanitation practices.
• Monitor kitchen supplies and report when items need replenishing.
• Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organized and compliant with food safety requirements.

General Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
• Work cooperatively with educators and management.
• Follow all centre policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Early Childhood Education training or experience in an early learning environment is preferred.
• Valid Food Safety Certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hiring.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Ability to multitask, work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility and willingness to work in both classroom and kitchen environments.
