Job Summary
We are seeking a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our family home daycare team. The successful candidate will help provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for young children while supporting their learning, development, and daily routines.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, is flexible with scheduling, and works well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily care, supervision, and safety of children.
- Support age-appropriate, play-based learning activities and creative experiences.
- Help children develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.
- Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe indoor and outdoor environment.
- Follow daycare policies, health and safety procedures, and childcare licensing requirements.
- Observe children’s behaviour and development and share relevant information with the daycare supervisor.
- Support positive behaviour guidance and inclusive childcare practices.
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, and outdoor play.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with families and team members.
Qualifications and Skills
- Early Childhood Educator Assistant certification or other applicable childcare qualification, as required by licensing regulations.
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children is an asset.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, as required for the position.
- Knowledge of child development, health, safety, and hygiene practices.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Patience, reliability, flexibility, and a genuine interest in children’s learning and well-being.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a childcare environment.
Work Schedule
- Casual, part-time hours based on operational needs.
- Availability from Monday to Friday, starting at 9:00 AM, as needed.
- Shifts and hours may vary depending on childcare requirements.
