Lead Shipper
Permanent Full-Time Positionย – Charlottetown, PE

Position Overview:
As a Lead Shipper, you’ll play a key role in keeping our warehouse operations organized, efficient, and running smoothly. In addition to handling shipping and receiving duties, you’ll provide day-to-day direction to warehouse employees, coordinate work assignments, support employee training, and help ensure that orders are prepared accurately and on schedule.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled warehouse that requires strong organizational skills, clear communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Location: ADL West Royalty, Industrial Park, 50 4 St, Charlottetown, PE
Work Environment and Schedule:
- Fast-paced warehouse environment involving both physical work and day-to-day coordination of warehouse activities.
- Physically active duties, including lifting and moving products, operating pallet jacks, and maintaining organized work areas.
- Work in a temperature controlled and dry storage areas while following safe work practices.
- Regular shift hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an alternating Wednesday/Saturday schedule.
- Saturday shifts begin at 4:00 AM and continue until work is completed, typically around 12:30 PM.
- Actual shift end times may vary based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign daily work and provide direction to warehouse employees to ensure tasks are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Support the orientation, operational training, and safety training of warehouse employees.
- Communicate work priorities, operational updates, and relevant information to warehouse employees and Managers.
- Identify and report employee performance, behavioural, safety, or operational concerns to Managers.
- Help ensure compliance with workplace safety, food safety, quality control, sanitation procedures, and company policies.
- Load and unload trucks, organize pallets, and handle returned products.
- Pick and prepare customer orders according to delivery schedules and load sheets.
- Receive incoming products, verify quantities and condition, and ensure proper storage and product rotation.
- Oversee product ordering and assist with inventory management and stock control.
- Use handheld devices and computer systems for inventory tracking, order processing, and documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of docks, coolers, equipment, and work areas.
- Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Perform other related warehouse duties as required.

Requirements:
- Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or a related environment.
- Ability to organize daily work, assign tasks, and provide clear direction to other employees.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and Supervisors.
- Ability to recognize and appropriately report performance, safety, behavioural, and operational concerns.
- Working knowledge of workplace safety, food safety, quality control, and sanitation procedures.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with handheld devices and basic computer systems used for inventory and order processing.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order preparation, inventory handling, and documentation.
- Physically capable of lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in refrigerated environments.
- Reliable, accountable, and willing to support and train other employees.
- Willingness to complete all required company training.
