Job Description:

Position Summary
The Inclusion Support Worker (Part Time) supports children who require additional assistance to participate safely and meaningfully in the childcare program. The Inclusion Support Worker works alongside classroom educators to promote inclusion, independence, positive relationships, and participation in daily routines and activities.

The successful candidate will provide individualized support while ensuring the child remains an active and valued member of the classroom community. Support will be provided in a manner that promotes dignity, respect, independence, and the child’s developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Child Support
  • Provide individualized support to children based on their identified needs, goals, and support plans.
  • Assist children with participating in classroom activities, routines, transitions, outdoor play, meals, and social experiences.
  • Support children in developing communication, social, emotional, behavioural, and self-help skills.
  • Encourage independence and avoid unnecessary one-to-one assistance when the child is able to complete a task independently.
  • Use positive, respectful, and developmentally appropriate strategies when supporting children.
  • Assist with personal care needs when required, including toileting, dressing, feeding, and hygiene.
  • Support children who may require assistance with sensory regulation, communication, mobility, or emotional regulation.
  • Follow individualized strategies and recommendations provided by qualified professionals and the child’s support team.
