Maintenance Technician – Manufacturing Facility
Position Type: Full-time | Reports To: Operations Manager
Position Summary
ADI International (PEI) operates the Central Compost Facility located in Brookfield, PE. Our facility is seeking a Maintenance Technician. The position is permanent, full-time and will commence immediately. We are seeking a dependable, safety-minded Maintenance Technician to support the operations of our manufacturing facility. This hands-on position performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repairs on production and heavy equipment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with conveyor systems, electric motors, heavy equipment and basic electrical components while responding effectively to day-to-day maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and repairs on manufacturing and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain conveyor belts, including tracking, tensioning, rollers, bearings, drives, and related components.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and assist with the repair or replacement of electric motors and associated equipment.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and help restore operations safely and efficiently.
- Identify equipment concerns and communicate maintenance needs to the operations manager.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all company safety procedures.
- Work independently and cooperatively with production employees and contractors.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience.
- Practical experience with general equipment maintenance in a manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, or similar environment.
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting conveyor belts and related mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of electric motors and basic electrical systems.
- General mechanical knowledge and the ability to diagnose equipment problems.
- Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, maintenance instructions, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces after completing required training.
- Strong reliability, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform the physical duties of the position safely.
- Ability to lift 50lbs
Qualifications Considered an Asset
- Basic welding skills.
- Basic electrical.
- Valid Class 3 driver’s license.
- Experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment.
- Experience operating heavy equipment.
- Additional industrial maintenance, electrical, millwright, or mechanical training.
Training Provided
The company will provide required training in:
- WHMIS
- Lockout/tagout
- Elevated work platforms & Fall Arrest
- Confined-space entry and safety
