Job Description:

Camp Gencheff is looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and organized After School Program Coordinator to lead our after-school programming for children and youth, including participants with disabilities and additional support needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead fun, inclusive, and age-appropriate activities.
  • Provide supervision and support to participants and staff on the floor
  • Create programming that encourages independence, social skills, recreation, and life skills.
  • Supervise and provide direction to program staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and daily assignments.
  • Communicate with parents/caregivers regarding participant needs and program activities.
  • Maintain attendance and program records.
  • Ensure appropriate supervision, safety, and staff-to-participant ratios.
  • Respond appropriately to behavioural, medical, and safety concerns.
  • Complete incident reports and other required documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Support community outings, special events, and other Camp Gencheff activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and/or youth with disabilities.
  • Experience in recreation, child care, education, community programming, or a related field.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Patient, creative, dependable, and comfortable working in a busy environment.
  • First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check required.

Education

  • Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education, Child & Youth Care, Recreation, Education, Disability Studies, Social Work, or a related field is an asset.
