Location: Spicey Chef Charlottetown- 85 Belvedere Avenue Charlottetown PEI, C1A 6B2.
Employment Type: Full-time-Permanent Position.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cooks to join our team at Spicey Chef Restaurant, Charlottetown specializing in authentic Indian, Hakka Chinese and Nepalese cuisine. The ideal candidates should have work experience preparing authentic Indian, Nepali and Hakka Chinese dishes from these culinary traditions and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals to the Islanders. This is an urgent opening, and we are looking for someone who can start immediately.
Key Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Creating new recipes, prepare and cook complete meals, instructing cooks or individual dishes from Indian curries, tandoori items, Chinese, Thai and Nepalese cuisines.
  • Ensure food presentation meets restaurant standards.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Oversee kitchen operations and ensure cleanliness and organization.

Supervising kitchen staffs, and maintaining food inventory.

  • Collaborate with kitchen staffs and train new team members as needed.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Additional Skills- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerance.
  • Cuisine Specialties- Indian curries, Tandoori items, Hakka Chinese, and Nepali and International Cuisines.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Work experience- At least 2 years in the culinary/restaurant industry.
  • Proven experience as a cook specializing in Indian, Hakka Chinese, and Nepalese cuisine.
  • Language- English is preferred
  • Knowledge of traditional cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Education-Completion of secondary school is preferred.
  • Culinary certification or apprenticeship is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities-standing for extended periods, repetitive tasks, work under pressure, attention to detail.
