Job Summary
The Pedagogical Support Staff works closely with Early Childhood Educators to support children’s learning, development, and well-being. This role assists in implementing daily programming, maintaining a safe and engaging environment, and supporting children’s individual needs in accordance with PEI Early Learning Frameworks and centre policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support educators in planning and implementing age-appropriate, play-based learning activities
  • Assist with daily routines, including meals, toileting, rest time, and transitions
  • Provide positive guidance and support children’s social, emotional, and physical development
  • Observe and report children’s progress and needs to educators and supervisors
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom and outdoor play areas
  • Support inclusion and adapt activities for children with diverse needs
  • Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience working with young children (early learning or daycare setting preferred)
  • Relevant education or training in Early Childhood Education or a related field is an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of child development and play-based learning
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

Working Conditions

  • Active role requiring standing, lifting, and engaging in play
  • Indoor and outdoor work in all seasons
  • Must be able to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30-5:30.

Compensation

  • Based on the Early Childhood Educator Wage Grid. If not a certified educator, the pay is minimum wage.

We do not support LMIA or AIP, but we do help with PNP applications.
