About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect to join our Charlottetown, PEI office. Reporting to the Director of Architecture, you will work closely with architects, intern architects, engineers, designers, technologists, and project managers as part of our multidisciplinary team.
This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys innovative problem-solving, collaboration, and project leadership in a team-oriented environment. The Senior Architect will provide technical leadership, exercise sound judgment, and follow through across all phases of the project life cycle.
You will lead and contribute to the design and delivery of architectural projects across institutional, residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, from concept and schematic design through construction administration. You will be responsible for producing design documentation, coordinating with consultants and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations, and supporting project costing and scheduling. You will also contribute to sustainability initiatives, including energy-efficient design, green building practices, and innovative material selection.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage architectural projects through all phases, from concept and schematic design to design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
- Prepare and deliver engaging presentations to clients, design review boards, heritage committees, and regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate and collaborate with consultant teams to ensure integrated, high-quality project deliverables.
- Oversee the production of architectural drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
- Provide technical guidance, creative problem-solving, and innovative design solutions for complex architectural challenges.
- Conduct building code reviews, site and condition assessments, and support the preparation of detailed project specifications.
- Participate in construction administration, including site visits, review of submittals, and documentation of project progress.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to staff.
- Support business development and proposal preparation as required.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) or Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) degree.
- Registered Architect with AAPEI (or eligible for registration).
- Minimum of 10 years post-graduate professional experience in architectural design and project delivery.
- Strong knowledge of the National Building Code, construction methods, cost estimating, and contract administration practices.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Salary range: $95,000 – $125,000 (commensurate with experience)
