Job Description:

  • Responsible for supervising all clients who have been assigned to 1:1 support.
  • All support staff for 1:1 clients report directly to you.
  • Provide assistance during any incident where a second person or more guidance is required. I.e.- behavioural incident, extra support with communication by providing training or guidance to the support worker.
  • Provide personal care, including assisting with changing, dietary needs, and mobility when needed as a second person, if required
  • Modify or schedule activities that are better suited to the needs of the clients.
  • Make every effort to include and encourage all 1:1 support workers to engage in all group programming activities
  • Provide guidance to support workers by educating them on specific approaches, transitioning tools, de-escalation techniques etc.
  • Communicate needs of client to Program manager and Executive Director
  • Daily communication with guardians at pick-up/ drop-off.
  • Work in a team environment
  • Light cleaning duties- areas where clients frequently use- have staff tidy up after use and end of the day (provide cleaning schedule)
  • Follow all organizational policies and procedures
  • Administrative duties, as required (incident reports, shift reports etc.)
  • ensure reports are completed accurately and on a timely manner by support works and are thoroughly reviewed and signed off by ED
  • provide feedback and guidance to support staff after an incident has occured
  • Follow the direction of the program managers and site supervisors
  • Make every effort to include and encourage all 1:1 support workers to engage in all group programming activities
    Discuss any staffing concerns or issues with program manager and ED.
  • Meet with ED and PM for weekly updates and progress of each client and support staff
  • Daily written logs and progress reports on each client
  • With assistance from ED, manage HR issues with 1:1 support staff.  Provide mid/final job reviews
