Job Description:

Physical Activity Coordinator

Job Description: Physical Activity Coordinators will be responsible for leading the organization’s summer programs and events that take place in Eastern PEI. Each of the programs and events will vary in content, but all will be focused on physical activity, movement, health & wellness, and physical literacy. Coordinators will work together to plan and deliver activities and work with our partner organizations. Programs may include, but are not limited to activities such as Intro to sport, Active start, outdoor recreation, yoga, and fitness. Program participants will include youth, adults, families and seniors. As well, Coordinators will be responsible for leading and facilitating two summer camps in two Eastern PEI communities. Each of the camps will operate for 2 weeks from 8:30am-4:00pm. The Coordinators will be responsible for organizing various games and activities that focus on sports, recreation, physical literacy, and wellness.

Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibility is to create a fun and safe environment for participants. Accurately maintain records of attendance. Lead activities and supervise children. Foster positive interactions and teamwork. Communicate effectively with parents and staff. Document incidents and other pertinent information. Ensure the cleanliness of the recreational area. Maintain an inventory of equipment.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Applicants should be between 15 and 30 years of age.
  • Students must return to school in Fall 2026.
  • Experience in sports and recreation is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with children is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills are essential.
  • Strong verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Knowledge of and belief in the importance of physical activity and healthy living are required.
  • Highly motivated individuals with the ability to work independently are preferred.
  • Applicants must possess a valid Driver’s License and vehicle and be willing to travel.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, is required.
