Job Description:

Cape Bear Lighthouse is accepting applications for a post-secondary student to fill the Tour Guide and Museum Staff Person position for the upcoming summer season.

The ideal applicant will be/have:

  • Studying at the post-secondary level with a focus on Arts, in particular History
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about local history of PEI
  • Experienced working with multi-aged groups (children and adults)
  • Creative and artistic, with good communication skills
  • Experienced in customer service and retail sales
  • Friendly and outgoing

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and offer guided tours of the Lighthouse
  • Assist with Exhibit and Display Designs and Updates.
  • Assist with development and testing of an in-person experiential activity for small groups
  • Assist in Signal Shop and learn POS (point of sale) system
  • Greet guests and make them feel welcome
  • Offer accurate historical and local tourism information
  • Collect admission fees
  • Maintain cleanliness of entire site
  • A valid First Aid certification recognized by WCS-PEI is required.
  • A driver’s license and own transportation are required.
