We pride ourselves on a collegial, supportive team environment and are seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Paralegal to join our Charlottetown office.

This is a senior role suited for a confident professional who can manage corporate files with minimal supervision and provide guidance and support to lawyers and junior team members

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive support to the firm’s clients in all aspects of corporate transactions, including asset and share purchases and sales, reorganizations, and financings;
  • Independently complete incorporations, amendments, continuances, amalgamations, dissolutions, revivals, and reorganizations of Provincial and Federal entities;
  • Conduct and coordinate due diligence reviews;
  • Prepare and file PPSA registrations and related searches;
  • Review, organize, and maintain complex corporate minute books;
  • Assist lawyers with transactional closings and post-closing matters;
  • Record billable and non-billable time in accordance with firm standards;
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, guidance, and technical support to junior staff where appropriate;
  • Perform other related duties as required

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of a Paralegal or Legal Assistant diploma, or post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Minimum five years of corporate paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of corporate statutes, filings, and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Office and experience working with corporate database and legal document management systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
