Marketing and Communications Specialist
FULL-TIME TEMPORARY POSITION (beginning immediately for approximately 6 months)
The Workers Compensation Board (WCB) helps to build safe and healthy workplaces in PEI and provides benefits and services to reduce the impact of work-related injuries.
As the WCB Marketing and Communications Specialist, you will work closely with the Manager, Marketing and Communications and all WCB divisions to develop and promote information about workplace safety, return to work, and WCB programs and services. This position develops external and internal marketing and communications materials; executes marketing and communications plans; prepares, edits and posts website, social media and newsletter content; coordinates administrative functions for WCB Communications, and provides support and back up coverage for WCB Communications.
The Marketing and Communications Specialist reports to the Manager, Marketing and Communications. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develops content, designs and updates marketing and communications materials such as website content, social media content, newsletter content, advertising content, WCB publications content.
- Executes marketing and communications plans for WCB projects and programs.
- Plans, prepares, posts, and monitors social medial content on WCB social media channels.
- Prepares media and legislative monitoring reports of WCB and related topics.
- Provides media assistance to WCB spokespersons.
- Coordinates administrative and research functions to support WCB Communications.
- Provides support and back up coverage for WCB Communications.
The Marketing and Communications Specialist must be self-directed and be able to deliver results independently and as a member of a team.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must possess a relevant post-secondary degree or diploma (example Business, English, Communications, Graphic Design). This position requires experience in executing marketing and communication plans, social media strategy, and developing various marketing and communications content. Must have superior written and visual communication skills, the ability to effectively communicate complex information in plain language, and exceptional time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency using social media platforms and basic document and graphic design software, including MS Office software, is required. Experience in public sector marketing and communications is an asset.
- Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered and must be clearly articulated in the application process.
- Being bilingual, French and English, would be considered an asset.
- A satisfactory criminal records check is required for this position.
