Position Summary:

Part of what we do at Silliker Glass is supply custom shower enclosures, glass railings, commercial storefronts, and related hardware to professional installers. As a manufacturer, we work directly from installer-provided measurements and drawings to engineer, price, and produce finished glass systems.

Silliker Glass is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our Showers & Storefronts Team. In this role, you will prepare accurate quotes for custom glass and hardware based on measurements and sketches provided by professional installers. You will guide customers through available glass and hardware options and produce shop drawings using vendor-supplied software for customer approval.

This position is well suited to an estimator from the construction, architectural products, or hardware industries who is comfortable working with dimensional products, tolerances, and customer-provided measurements. Prior glazing experience is helpful but not required.

This role also offers long-term growth potential, including the opportunity to take a lead role within the Showers Division.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely quotes for:
    • Custom shower glass enclosures
    • Glass railing systems
    • Commercial storefront glass and entrances
  • All associated hardware supplied by Silliker Glass
  • Review and interpret installer-provided measurements and sketches
  • Verify dimensions, configurations, and required hardware for manufacturability
  • Recommend appropriate:
    • Glass types, thicknesses, and finishes
    • Hardware systems and configurations
    • Alternative hardware options when applicable
    • Use hardware-vendor provided software to produce drawings for customer review and sign-off
  • Communicate clearly with installers to clarify measurements, layouts, and product selections
  • Work closely with sales, production, and procurement teams to ensure pricing and scope accuracy
  • Enter sales orders and job details into company accounting and order management systems
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, drawings, revisions, and approvals

Requirements and Qualifications:

Required:

  • Estimating experience in construction, manufacturing, architectural products, or hardware
  • Strong understanding of dimensional products, tolerances, and hardware-based systems
  • Ability to interpret customer-supplied measurements and sketches
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with trade professionals

Considered an Asset (but not required):

  • Experience in glazing, glass fabrication, or architectural hardware
  • Familiarity with shower hardware, railing systems, or storefront products
  • Experience using drawing or configuration software (vendor tools, Visio, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Manufacturing or fabrication environment experience
