Job Summary:
A Level 3 Early Childhood Educator (ECE) on Prince Edward Island is responsible for leading the planning and implementation of a high-quality early learning program that supports children’s development in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. This role demonstrates advanced knowledge of child development, curriculum planning, and mentoring of other educators while ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and centre policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate programming in alignment with the PEI Early Learning Framework.
- Support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development through play-based learning.
- Create inclusive environments that respect diversity, culture, and individual needs.
- Observe, document, and assess children’s learning and development.
- Guide and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 educators and support staff.
- Maintain open, professional communication with families.
- Ensure health, safety, and supervision standards are consistently met.
- Comply with all licensing regulations under the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning.
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education Level 3 Certification in Prince Edward Island.Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Work Environment:
- Licensed early learning and child care centre setting requiring active engagement, supervision, and collaboration with children, families, and staff.
