We’re looking for a hands-on Food Science and Compliance Specialist to lead client projects, develop and troubleshoot food products and processes, and ensure food safety and regulatory compliance. This role combines technical expertise with client interaction and supports quality systems and facility compliance.
Duties will include:
• Lead client projects from planning to completion, including scope, timelines, budgets, and reporting.
• Develop prototypes, run pilot trials, and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (CFIA/SFCA, FDA) and labeling requirements.
• Prepare HACCP and Preventive Controls plans; support facility and process compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Attend industry events as needed.
• Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or an applied science field.
• 5+ years food industry experience, either in product development, manufacturing, or consulting.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading technical projects and writing technical reports.
• Preferred: R&D or innovation center experience, NHP knowledge, and multi-category food expertise.
