The purpose of the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) is to enable children to participate and develop to their full potential in environments that are carefully planned to serve individual needs, and to facilitate the child’s progress in the social, emotional, physical and cognitive areas of development. Early Childhood Educators must adhere to the highest standards of ethical practice to care for and educate young children.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in child and family science or college diploma in Early Childhood Education is required
- Ongoing education is required to meet the criteria as an Early Years Center under regulations of the provincial government.
- Current certification in PEI as Early Childhood Educator
- Certified in First Aid
- Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
- Experience an asset
