Inclusion Support Assistant – HOLLAND COLLEGE EARLY LEARNING CENTRE (L4491)
Full Time Continuing Position Commencing As Soon As Possible, Working 40 Hours Per Week
The Holland College Early Learning Centre is seeking an Inclusion Support Assistant to join our team. We strive to offer a high-quality childcare and education program for children up to five years old. The Inclusion Support Assistant will enable children with special needs to participate to their full potential in environments that are carefully planned to serve individual needs, and to facilitate the child’s progress in the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive areas of development.
As part of our team, you are responsible to:
- Offer a play-based, emergent curriculum
- Create, adapt, and maintain an environment that protects the health and safety of children and adults
- Observe, record, and document children’s work
- Foster social interactions and child development
- Adapt equipment, materials and supplies to meet the needs of children with special needs
- Build relationships with children, parents and co-workers
Qualifications
- Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or Human Services. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Prior experience working with children with identified needs.
- Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and relationship building skills.
- IBI training would be considered an asset.
Employment Requirements
- Certification in First Aid/CPR are required.
- The successful candidate will be required to provide a criminal background check and vulnerable sector check.
- Proof of credentials or equivalencies from accredited regional or federal post-secondary institutions and/or their foreign equivalents will be required at the time of job offer.

- In accordance with Schedule “A” of the Collective Agreement between Holland College Early Learning Centre and the PEI Union of Public Sector Employees.
